Garden update

James and I got our garden put in about a month ago and took really good care of it for about two weeks, then painting the living room consumed our lives and our poor garden got neglected. Luckily most of it survived the neglect (somehow James's sunflowers disappeared) and after we tore out a forest's worth of very young saplings, our garden looks presentable.

This year we planted one row of zucchini and yellow squash, one cantaloupe plant, one watermelon, Roma tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes, one row of cucumbers, a row of bush green beans, and three different peppers. They are all doing really well and it's just starting to get hot enough here to warrant buds on the tomato and pepper plants. I can't wait until our garden is producing all sorts of yummy veggies.
My boss, Sam, makes sure we have plenty of grass clippings to help keep the weeds down. I think James is happiest when we get to put down the grass clippings because that means the real back breaking work is done (well, at least it is for the most part).

Ain't he a cutie??
